According to customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Nanchang’s imports and exports amounted to 58.16 billion yuan, accounting for 22.4% of the total imports and exports of the province during the same period; among them, exports amounted to 38.45 billion yuan; imports amounted to 19.71 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6%. Nanchang’s foreign trade imports and exports and export scale ranked first among the prefecture-level cities in the province.

The main characteristics of Nanchang’s foreign trade in the first seven months are as follows: From the monthly trend, Nanchang’s foreign trade situation continued to improve. In July, Nanchang’s imports and exports amounted to 10.78 billion yuan, an increase of 26%; among them, exports amounted to 7.04 billion yuan, an increase of 13.8%; imports amounted to 3.74 billion yuan, an increase of 57.6%. In July, Nanchang’s imports and exports, exports, and imports all ranked first among the prefecture-level cities in the province.

From the perspective of trade structure, general trade imports and exports accounted for more than 70%. In the first seven months, Nanchang’s imports and exports in general trade amounted to 44.62 billion yuan, accounting for 76.7% of the city’s total foreign trade value; among them, exports amounted to 29.11 billion yuan; imports amounted to 15.51 billion yuan, an increase of 41.1%. During the same period, processing trade imports and exports amounted to 12.2 billion yuan, accounting for 21% of the city’s total foreign trade.

From the perspective of foreign trade entities, private enterprises’ imports and exports increased slightly. In the first seven months, private enterprises’ imports and exports amounted to 49.24 billion yuan, up 1.3%, accounting for 84.7% of the city’s total foreign trade, an increase of 10.5 percentage points over the same period last year. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises’ imports and exports amounted to 7.31 billion yuan, and state-owned enterprises’ imports and exports amounted to 1.59 billion yuan. 4. From the perspective of market structure, the United States, Hong Kong, China, and ASEAN are Nanchang’s top three trading partners. In the first seven months, imports and exports to the United States amounted to 8.09 billion yuan; imports and exports to Hong Kong, China amounted to 7.71 billion yuan, up 24%; imports and exports to ASEAN amounted to 6.8 billion yuan. During the same period, imports and exports to South Korea amounted to 4.77 billion yuan, up 44.3%.

From the perspective of export product structure, the main export is electromechanical products. In the first seven months, the export of mechanical and electrical products was 29.02 billion yuan, accounting for 75.5% of the city’s total exports; among them, the export of automatic data processing equipment and its parts was 6.88 billion yuan, an increase of 4.3%; the export of mobile phones was 6.67 billion yuan, an increase of 69.5%; the export of automobiles (including chassis) was 6.45 billion yuan, an increase of 12.4%. From the perspective of the structure of imported products, the import of electronic components has increased significantly. In the first seven months, the import of mechanical and electrical products was 15.93 billion yuan, an increase of 24.3%, accounting for 80.8% of the city’s total imports.
