A 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred at 20:08 on September 18 in Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province (31.98 degrees north latitude, 117.60 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 12 kilometers.
The epicenter is 16 kilometers from Feidong County, 31 kilometers from Yaohai District, 34 kilometers from Baohe District, 34 kilometers from Luyang District, 35 kilometers from Shushan District, and 37 kilometers from Hefei City. The earthquake was felt significantly in Hefei, Nanjing, and other places, and there were also local earthquake feedback in Wuhu, Yangzhou, and Hangzhou.
As of 10:00 a.m. on September 19, the Anhui Provincial Earthquake Monitoring Station Network recorded 49 aftershocks of the 4.7-magnitude earthquake in Feidong, including 9 aftershocks of magnitude 1.0 or above, and the largest aftershock was a 2.6-magnitude earthquake at 7:58 a.m. on the 19th.
At 8 a.m. on the 19th, the China Earthquake Administration organized experts from the China Earthquake Networks Center, Anhui Provincial Earthquake Administration, Jiangsu Provincial Earthquake Administration, Shanghai Earthquake Administration, Zhejiang Provincial Earthquake Administration and other units to hold a joint meeting on earthquake trends.
After analysis and judgment, the previous judgment that “the possibility of an earthquake of magnitude 5 or above occurring in the original earthquake area in the next few days is not high” was maintained.
