China’s largest liquefied natural gas storage base completed

Recently, the Jiangsu Binhai LNG Receiving Station Project, in which Huaihe Energy Holding Group participated in the construction, has completed the construction of six 270,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas storage tanks, marking the completion of my country’s largest liquefied natural gas reserve base.

Huaihe Energy Holding Group and CNOOC Gas and Power Group jointly established CNOOC Jiangsu Natural Gas Co., Ltd. to jointly invest in the construction of the Jiangsu Binhai LNG Receiving Station Project. Among them, Huaihe Energy Holding Group invested 580 million yuan and held 24% of the shares. The project is located in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. It is a key planning project for the construction and interconnection of the national natural gas production, supply, storage and sales system. It is interconnected with national trunk pipelines such as the West-East Gas Transmission, China-Russia East Line, and Jiangsu-Anhui Pipeline. After it is put into use, it will provide a stable coastal gas source for our province, which is of great significance for ensuring energy supply security and promoting energy low-carbon transformation.

The Jiangsu Binhai LNG receiving station project is the world’s largest LNG storage tank group designed and built independently by my country, including 4 220,000 cubic meters and 6 270,000 cubic meters LNG storage tanks. After all are put into operation, the annual processing capacity of LNG can reach 6 million tons, equivalent to 8.5 billion cubic meters of gaseous natural gas. The 6 270,000 cubic meters storage tanks completed this time are the first in the world. The localization rate of the project reached 98.3%, and 12 technical achievements filled the domestic gap and reached the world’s leading level. Last year, the project exported 2.84 million tons of natural gas. It is the only LNG receiving station in my country that reached full production and profit as soon as it was put into operation.
