China’s GDP exceeds 3 trillion yuan to 5 provinces

In the first half of this year, 16 of China’s 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) had a GDP growth rate exceeding the national average of 5.0%, and 3 had a year-on-year growth of more than 6%.

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of the year, the GDP of Inner Mongolia, Chongqing and Tibet increased by more than 6% year-on-year, and 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) increased by more than 5%. Among them, Inner Mongolia led the country with a growth rate of 6.2%, while Chongqing and Tibet increased by 6.1% respectively.

Wang Xiaoyan, deputy director of the Statistics Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, introduced that in the first half of the year, the region’s economic operation was stable and improved, with a regional GDP of 1,168.3 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2% year-on-year at constant prices. The growth rates of the three industries were all higher than the national average, driving economic growth by 0.2 percentage points, 3.6 percentage points and 2.4 percentage points respectively.

Wang Ping, deputy director of the Statistics Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region, said that in the first half of the year, the region’s main economic indicators continued to improve, and the foundation for development was continuously consolidated. The growth rates of many indicators are among the highest in the country, including the growth rates of per capita disposable income of urban residents, fixed asset investment, industrial added value above designated size, total import and export of goods, and general public budget revenue, and the growth rate of regional GDP ranks second in the country.

In terms of total volume, in the first half of the year, the total economic volume of 5 provinces exceeded 3 trillion yuan, an increase of 1 compared with the first half of last year. Among them, Guangdong and Jiangsu continue to lead the country, with economic volumes exceeding 6 trillion yuan. In addition, Zhejiang and Henan have reached new levels of 4 trillion yuan and 3 trillion yuan respectively.
